I thought I’ve maybe spent too much time
in Strasbourg or I'm not smart enough to arrange a story cause I’d already wrote three posts, but I’m now starting the fourth, haha...
This is
really will be the last post about the city, to complete the previous stories
posted, promise!!! :)
One experience that I hardly forget is when I was stepping up
to the top of Cathedral. It happened because of my silliness on buying the
ticket. So, what I actually intended to do is watching the movie about the famous
astronomical clock. But, due to a vacation laziness atmosphere which brings me to lack of
research condition, I did not know that they sell the ticket only in a very
specific time (couple hours before the movie starts). I lined up to the
queue, not too long, and I was quite happy because they have a student price so
I just needed to pay 2,5 euro instead of 5 euro. And still I didn't realize
that I bought a “wrong” ticket.
Soon after I got the ticket, the staff showed me a small door
which led me to a dark room with a stair. So here I went, starting the (apparently)
exhausting 330 steps to the top. And no, the way up is different with the way down, too narrow also, so there's no way back until I got to the top.

For a less-sportive person like me, who's already proud of claiming small walking everyday as a sport activity, this 330 steps really drew my breath out. It's even embarassing myself since I took a time to rest for a minute just to catch my breath while some people who are much older or much younger (there were below 10 y.o) were passing me effortlessly. Some of them asking me "ça va?", are you okay? I was tempted to reply NOOO, I'M NOOOT, PLEASE TAKE ME UP THERE... but I thank God for not letting me to do that >.<

took this photo from the "window" |
I was glad when one of them looked down to my position and told me, it's already close, you just need a few steps more. Another embarrassing moment but I thanked him, then I "finished my duty". And these some of what I've got:
|
the green path for tram |
|
the upper tower |
|
the writing in the wall, I don't know which language it is |
|
the Saint Paul church, for me it's the most fotogenic part of the city |
|
the parliament building |
Is it worth the effort to climb? I must say no, haha, but the experience itself is unforgettable and that's the more essential side of doing travel. So, I dare you to try! :D
Enough about cathedral, this is Saint Paul church from front view, I was lucky since I passed this building whenever I started my day from the tram station located in front of it. So I've got lots of captures!
